British professional triathlete and Ironman World Championship St George runner-up Kat Matthews is recovering after a driver made a left-hand turn into her path.
The day before the crash, Kat Matthews continued her fine form over the full distance on Sunday as the British star took the win ahead of a top field at IRONMAN Vitoria-Gasteiz.
Matthews reckons she must have been going around 22mph when a car travelling in the opposite direction turned across her into a driveway causing her to come crashing down.
Matthews claimed an epic victory in a time of 73154 in the Sub7Sub8 event in Germany on Sunday June 5 2022. After being forced to pull out of the Ironman World Championships, Matthews will be looking to get back on the bike as soon as possible.
