Ederson left out of squad despite impressive club form
Alisson has been more consistent recently, says Tite
Brazil coach Tite has selected Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson as his number one for the World Cup, ahead of Manchester City's Ederson.
Ederson has been in impressive form for City this season, keeping 26 clean sheets in 48 appearances. However, Alisson has been more consistent for Liverpool, keeping 15 clean sheets in 42 appearances.
Tite said that he made his decision based on Alisson's recent form and his experience at international level.
"Alisson has been playing very well for Liverpool and he has a lot of experience with the national team," Tite said. "He is a leader and he is someone who can make a difference for us."
Ederson will be disappointed to miss out on the World Cup, but he will be hoping to bounce back and challenge Alisson for the number one spot in the future.
